Macintyre, accompanied by the chief kinematographer, Mr'Bonnett, in an altitude test in the Westland Wallace aeroplane, which is one of the two machines to be used in the Marquess of Clydesdale's attempt to fly over Mount Everest reached 34,000 feet in 90 minutes. Mr Bonnett experimented in photography with his head outside the cockpit, but quickly found conditions impossible. The wind penetrated his oxygen mask, dispersing the oxygen, and making him feel ill. The temperature was minus 45 degrees. —"The Times" Cable. FLIGHT TO AUSTRALIA. YOUNG ITALIAN'S FAILURE. (Received March 16, 9.27 p.m.) LONDON, March 16. Captain Robbiano, a young Italian, who hopes to fly to Australia in seven days, left Lympne at 6.25 this morning in thick fog and a head wind, which later forced him to return. Captain Robbiano's aeroplane has a cruising radius of 2700 miles and is equipped for flying at night. WELL-KNOWN PILOT MARRIED. (Received March 17, 12.20 a.m.) LONDON, March 16. Mr E. Richards, pilot of Lady Chaytor's aeroplane on her flight to Australia, has married Miss Mary Lennie, of Wellington.
