REDUCTION OF A PENNY A GALLON. Russian petrol, imported through the Associated Motorists' Petrol Company, Limited, was on sale to the public in Ohristchurch yesterday at Is lid a gallon —a reduction of a penny a gallon. The price to shareholders in the company remains at Is lOd a gallon. The company decided on Wednesday to reduce the hulk price to resellers, and they in turn decided at a meeting yesterday morning to lower tho retail price to that stated. On Wednesday tho retail price of other petrol was reduced to 2s and Is lid a gallon for first and second grade respectively, the reduction being equal to a penny or twopence a gallon according to the prices at which individual stations bad been selling.
