(From readings taken nt 4 p.m.) General Situation —A slight anti-cyclone i.-) moving on to tho South Island, but a cyclonic disturbance is centred north-west of Norfolk Island.

Seas (New Zealand waters)— Rather rough on tho East Const and in Cook and Fovcaux Straits, elsewhere smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea —Moderate to strong south-east to easterly winds, and rough seas in the northern portion, olsewhere variable with westerly prevailing, and seas smooth to moderate. Weather —Mainly fair to fine. and cool, but some scattered showers along the east coast, more especially of the North Tsland. Later raiu developing in tho far north.
