EARTHQUAKE IN CALIFORNIA.

A stroug earthquake was felt at 9.40 p.m., of about the same intensity as the other major shocks during the last two days. It' was the second shock on Tuesday night. Minor shocks during the day brought the total to 40. Bricks were knocked from weakened structures.
