S. T .— GOLF. The Lyttelton Golf Club will hold a stroke match at Oharteris Bay on Simday. The annual meeting of the Diamond Harbour Golf Chih will be held on Saturday afternoon. Lodge Meeting. The Court Queen of the Isles Foresters' Lodge held its regular meeting on Tuesday, Bro. D. S. Smith presiding., The sick visitors reported on the sick members, and sick pay was passed for payment. The anual balance-sheet and report of the board of management of tho United Friendly Societies' Dispensary, and the auditor's report and bal-ance-sheet: of the New Zealand Foresterf' Guarantee Association were received. Sailing. The Canterbury Yacht aud Power Boat Association will hold three raees at Lyttelton on Saturday for the Navy League cup, the Beryl Stacey trophy, and the Irene Stacey trophy. The race for the Navy League cup is between the representatives of Christenurch and Lyttelton in the Cornwell Cup contest, O. White, of the Christchurch Sailing and Pwer Boat Club, and B. Hendry, of the Canterbury Yacht and Motor Boat Club, and will start at 1.30. Last year's winner of the cup was B. Beveridge. The race for the Beryl Stacey trophy will start at 3 o'clock and is a handicap open sailing race. , George Brassel, who won last year in Colleen, is. the present holder of the cup. The race for the Irene Stacey trophy will commence at 3.40 p.m. The ra«e is for sailing boats 12ft 9in and under, which embraces the Takapuna and Idle Along classes. Good entries from both the estuary and Lyttelto'n are assured for this event. The trophy is at present held by E. Morrison,'who won last year in Fidget. Jumble Sale. A jumble sale will be held in the Methodist schoolroom to-morrow afternoon. Magistrate's Court. . Mr U. A. Young, S.M., presided at the Lyttelton Magistrate's Court yesterday. When the case of. Police .v. John Stephen Tinton, a seaman, of Auckland, was called, Senior-Sergeant W. H. Dunlop said the action was for the recovery of £3BO arrears of maintenance in respect of defendant's wife and child. Tinton's evidence had been taken in Auckland. His wife had recently applied for a divorce, aud a reduction, erf-'the order and the remission of arrears was asked for. An order was made reducing the maintenance from 30s to 10s for the maintenance of the child, and remitting the arrears to date. ' '
