The John is duo from Dnnedin on March ,17 to load for Wellington. New Plymouth, and Wnikato, via Lyttelton. The Mamari arrives from Nelson on March 25 to load frozen meat and general cargo for Halifax, Dunkirk, «nd London, The Opihi loa'ds al Dunedin. and is due nl; Tiinarn on Friday, March 17, to load for 'Wellington. Nelson, and New 'Plymouth, via Lvtlelton. The Waikouaiti left Sydney for Bluff, Dnnedin, Timaru, and Lyttelton, and is due here on March 24. The Waimarino loads at Auckland for.dispatch from there on Friday for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dnnedin, Oamaru, and Timaru. Hlib will arrive here on March 27. The Port Whangarei loads here on March 27 for Wellington, Tanranga, Auckland, and Whangarei. The Holmglen is due here on March 28 to load for Wellington, Wanganui, New Plymouth, and Waikalo. The council of Ibc Xocth Oantcrliury Acclimatisation Society met last night, Mr L. A. Shanci presiding. The Game Committee reported Ihat the Department- of Internal Affairs had advised Uiat the '.ooiety's. application for an open season for pheasants would receive, consideration. A further request had been sent to Ihe Minister for Internal Affairs regarding his refusal to grant a permit for the export of black swans 1o London. A letter had been received from Mr J. K. MeAlpine, agreeing to tho society's request that ehiikor be liberated on his property at Craigiebnrn. It had been decided to send posters to sports dealers intimating an open season for pheasant shooting, atid suggesting- the • co-operation of licenseholders in protecting their own game. The report was adopted. It was reported* that after meeting in conference, "the North Canterbury and the Ashbyrton societies had agreed on altering the North Canterbury Societies' boundary, from the south bank of the .Rakaia river to the centre of" the stream.
