Other emetics are Ipecacuanha or Antimonial wine, nod the dose two to six teasp'oonfuls of either, or from five to 20 grains of sulphate of zinc- in warm water. Arsenic poisoning is characterised by severe sickness and diarrhtea. The sufferer is very restless. Antidotes are s-dialysed iron or carbonate .of magnesia. Carbolic acid causes abdominal pain, diarrhoea and sickness, inflammation of the mouth, and collapse, v Givo ft dose of Epsom or Glauber salts, and. after an emetio has worked, white ot cup; or olive oil. Then give Phosphorus may be smelt as' a rule. The symptoms are whining or howling, restlessness, irritation of mouth •.and throat, and thick saliva. Never use oil as an emollient. Give splphnt® of jship or sulphate b? copper ag an emetic in warm water; and turpentine in'emulsion or permanganic of pptash antidotes. The symptoms at strychnine poisoning are familiar.
