DISARMANENT SERMON
CURATE ASKED TO RESIGN. (froji otiK ows coMtEaroHMirx.) LONDON, January 19. The Archbishop of Wales (Dr. Edwards) has demanded.the resignation ot the Bev. L. E. Roberts, a curate t ,in the parish of Chirk, following a sermon which Mr Roberts preached on disarmament. According to the "Daily Express" correspondent, Mr Roberts stated that a eomplaint was made by Lord Trevor, who lives at Chirk. Lord Trevor served in the war. He is in his seventieth year. Mr Boberts has refused to resign, and the archbishop has ordered that he shall discharge no further duties in the parish. In an interview Mr Boberts said: "1 was rebuked by the archbishop for preaching disarmament, and warned not to preach on that subject in future. I am a strong pacifist and have good reasons for that attitude. I enlisted at the age of 16, served in France, was wounded in the Battle of Arras, and later served on the Russian front at Archangel. "The archbishop offered me another post, but this I could not accept on principle." Arrangements are being made for a protest meeting at Chirk. The archbishop declined to discuss the matter.
How's this for economy. There's sixty doses of real cough and cold dispelling mixture in every bottle of "NAZOL" at Is 6d. Better still this, 120 doses in the 2s 6tl bottle. Acts like a charm on coughs and colds. —3
