ANTARCTIC EXPLORATION.
CAPTAIN LARSEN'S PLANS. (FHOU OUR OWN COERESPONDiiNT.) LONDON, January 19. A new scientific expedition to the Antarctic has been undertaken by Captain Riiser Larsen, who left London at tho week-end with several friends for the shores of Enderby Land (writes a correspondent of "The Times"). According to present arrangements, the exploring party will consist of Captain Larson and two other men, who will join him and his friends in South Africa. From there they will board a tanker belonging to Consul Lars Christensen, and will make the 11-day s trip t6 EndeTby Land, which they expect to reach some time in February. Then the three explorers will land with their supplies and 100 dogs, and for a year will make a close study of the coast of the Weddell Sea. Captain Larsen has had great experience of Polar exploration, and accompanied Amundsen's 1925 Arctic expedition. On the journey to the Antarctic he will be accompanied by Consul Lara Christensen, Mrs Christensen—who, it, is claimed, has already travelled farther south than any other woman in tho world—Mrs Rachlew, and Mr H. Bogen. Consul and Mrs Christensen, Mrs Rachlew, and Mr Bogen will return to South for a short big-game hunting trip when the expedition has landed.
