Roosevelt (President-elect) named Mr George H, Dern (Utah), Secretary for War, and Representative Lewis Douglas (Arizona) as his new Budget director. Official circles at Washington heard to-day that Mr Robert W. Bingham, the Louisville. (Kentucky) newspaper publisher, has been chosen to be Ambassador to London by Mr Roosevelt. George Henry Dern (Democrat) was the last Governor of Utah. He has extensive mining and banking interests. He was a. member of the State Council of Defence during the Great War. Lewis Williams Douglas has been a minor and a rancher in Arizona. Ho was a member of the Arizona House of Representatives from 19§3 to 1925, and entered Congress in 1027. He was instructor in History at Amherst College in 1927. Robert Worth Bingham, newspaper publisher, is a Doctor of Laws of the University of Kentucky, and a- member of the American Bar Association. He is 52 years of age. FEDERAL FARM BOARD. RESIGNATION OF CHAIRMAN. WASHINGTON, February 23. Mr James C. Stone, chairman of the Federal Farm Board, to-day submitted his resignation to President Hoover, who accepted it.
