YESTERDAY'S TRANSACTIONS. Quiet conditions prevailed on call yesterday, and the recorded turnover, which was small, was confined to a few stocks. Transactions, exclusive of vestibule business, were: — £SOO Lyttelton Harbour Board 5j per cent., 1953. 10 Bank of New South. Wales (cum div.). to Dalgety and Co. 100 New Zealand Refrigerating (10s paid). 200 New Zealand Breweries. 1.00 Toohey 's Brewery. 100 Beath nad Company (Is paid). , 200 Gillespie's Beach. 400 Lawson's Flat. A parcel of Lyttelton Harbour Board 5j per cent. Debentures, due 1953, changed hands at £97. and the market closed with unsupported sellers at £§s. Bank of Australasia shares were firmer on buyers' offers £9 13s, sellers at £ 10. Buyers of Commercial Bank of Australia preference raised their bids to £B, sellers at £8 ss. Commercial Bank of Sydney -were stronger with buyers at £ls 6s. Buyers" of National Bank of Australasia fully paid shares advanced their offers to £ll 19s, and buyers of the £5 paid offered £5 13s, with sellers at £l2 2s 6d and £5 14s 6d respectively. Bank of New South Wales, cum dividend, recovered to £2B 12s 6d, buyers staying in at that price, sellers at £2B 15s. Bank'of New Zealand \ shares were easier with sellers at 435, j buyers at 425.
