The Souse of Eepresentatiresi met at 2.30 p.m. The Local Bills Committee recommended that the Onehunga and One Tree Hill Boroughs' Water Supply Protection Bill should not be allowed to proeeed. The Orchard Tax Amendment Bill was reported without amendment. The following local Bills were read a second time—Otago Harbour Board Empowering (Mr J. W. Muhro), Auckland Transport Board Conversion of Loans Empowering (Mr H. G. R. Mason), Auckland City Empowering (Mr M. J. Savage), Whangarei Har? hour Board Vesting (Mr Ar J. Murdoch), Hawke's Bay Bivera Amendment (Mr W. E. Barnard), Napier Harbour Board Empowering (Mr BarnaM). The Moutoa Drainage Bo&rd Bating Bill (Mr J. Linklater) was defeated On the short title by 41 votes to 18. The following Bill s were put through their remaining stages and passed— Otago Harbour Board Empowering. Auckland Transport Board Empowering, Auckland City Empowering, Hawke's Bay Elvers Amendment, and Napier Harbour Board Empowering. The House rose at 11.30 p.m.
