Ho could not remember liearinp a trombono competition which had given him greater enjoyment. Ths work of selecting the bebt players had been very exacting. Some of the players hud given him the imprassion of being younjj men without a great deal of experience. The judge said the standard attained was not up to championship form, only one player, Christie, bringing out the real beauties of the cornrt. The majority of tho competitors played forte and did not shoiv any restraint or reserve whatsoever. The selection was a fine test of technique, artistry, and endurance.
