YESTERDAY'S TRANSACTIONS. On. call yesterday the gold mining section again attracted the bulk of the business. Markets for shipping, wooli len, and coal company shares continued dull and inactive, and there were fewer quotations in Government issues. Transactions, exclusive of vestibule business, were:— 100 New Zealand Refrigerating (10s paid). 200 New Zealand Breweries. 100 Henry Jones Co-op. 100 Moturoa Oil. 100 Alexander (contr., cum div.). 200 Blackwater. 100 Golden Sands. 1600 Lawson's Flat. '2300 Mahakipawa. 100 Nokomai. 200 Waihi Grand Junction. Buyers of United Building Society shares raised their bids to 14s lid, sellers firm at 15s 2d. Buyers of Union Steamship preference shares moved up a point to 20s id without attracting sellers. New Zealand Refrigerating, 10s paid shares, were firm at 3s 6d, sellers Btaying in that price, buyers at 3s 4d. New Zealand Breweries shares hatl dealings at 26s 6d and 26s 7d, buyers staying in at the higher figure,. sellers at 26s 9d. Sellers of Tooth's Brewery shares came down to 34s 9d, buyers at 34s 6d. Australian Glass shares were firmer on buyers' offers 45s 9cl, sellers at 47s 6d. Henry Jones Co-op were firm at 375, closing quotations 6d on either side. Moturoa Oils were fractionally firmer at 5s 2d. market closing 5s buyers, 5s 6d sellers. Mount Lyells appeared firmer on bnvers' offer's 20s 3d. sellers at^ 20s sd. Buyers of Taralinki Oils raised their bids to 2s 3d without attracting sellers. Mining. Alexander Mines, partly paid, cum dividend, changed hands at 13s 3d, closing quotations 12s buyers, 14s 10u sellers. Blackwater Mines advanced to dealings at 21s 6d, buyers staying in at that price, sellers 1 at 225. Golden Sands were fractionally weaker at 3s, closing quotes Id on either side. Lawson's Flat were a shade firmer, with buyers and business at BJd, sellers at 9d. Mahakipawas remained unaltered with dealings at 2d and further buyers at that price, sellers at 2sd. Nokomais relapsed to 6s, buyers staying m at that figure, sellers at 6s Id. W aim Grand Junctions were easier at 3s_6d, and more were offered at 3s,7|a, buyers at 3s s*d.
