ALTERNATE Tenders, suitably endorsed on the envelope, will be received by the Wanganui Harbour Board up to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Ist March, 1883, for raising tho levels of the North and South Holes at the entrance to tho Port of Wanganui with Shell Rock or Concrete Blocks. The "Shell Rock" Contract prdvidee ioi(1) the removal of approximately 75,000 cubic yards of overburden at tho Board's Quarry, Wanganui river, (2) the quarrying of approximately 20,000 tons of Shell Rock, and delivery thereof on to punts at the Quarry Wharf, and (3) tho transportation of specified quantities and sizes of stone from tho Quarry to Oasllocliff and the depositing of same on the Moles. The "Concrete" Contract provides for the manufacture, transporting, and depositing on the Moles of approximately 20,000 tons of concrete blocks of approximately 10 "tons each. Tenderers may quote for the whole or any part Of the above items. Plans, Specifications, and Conditions of Contract may be inspected at tho Offices of tho Lyttelton Harbour Board, Christchurch, or may bo obtained upon application to the undersigned and tho payment of a fee of £l, which will be returned on receipt of n bono fide tender.
