ATHLETICS.
ENGLISH PARK SPORTS. The series of weekly sports meetings will be continued at English Park next Saturday night, when a programme will he presented consisting of the following events: — Half and one mile, open cycle handicaps, five miles miss and out scratch race, three-quar-ter mile derby handicap, 100 yds and 880y<l.s flat handicaps. Entries close with Mr P. C. Lucas to-morrow evening. EVENING MEETINGS. Events to be decided at evening athletic meetings 1o be organised tay the various tlubs under the auspices of the Canterbury Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic and Cycling Association were arranged at a meeting of the club secretaries last evening. The evening meetings will be recommenced on Tuesday, January 64, , and five meetings will be held. .The first;, meeting will be organised by the combined clubs, and on the following Tuesday evenings by tlie G.A..A.C. and Old Boys', Technical and Sydenham, University and" Presbvterinn, and New Brighton, Sumner, and Collie Clubs' respectively. The programme of events for the meeiiii?s is as follows: January 2t: 220 yds open, long jump, onn mile, 75yds women's, 120 yds' hurdles', women's long jump, and relay. January 31: 75yds. Cooyd3. javelin throw, lOOvds women's, 220 yds hurdles, and 'relay. February 7: 100 yds- two miles, putting the shot, ~J2oyds women's, 'women's high jump, ;440ytTs .hurdles, and relav. 75vds women's, 120vds hurdles, and relav. -February...9l.:..
