Samuel Furnace, who was arrested on January 15 for the murder of Walter Spatchett, and who later took poison in prison, is dead. For a long time he was semi-conscious. H;s wife was present at his bedside, with a detective trying to make sense of Ms incoherent cries. Tho police cannot understand «how he concealed poison on his person, as ho was stripped at the prison, and his clothes were thoroughly searched.
