BOWHILL ROAD.

TENDER FOR RECONSTRUCTION ACCEPTED. A tender for the reconstruction of Bowhill road and Rookwood avenue, New Brighton, was accepted by the New Brighton Borough Council evening, subject to certain amendments to the spceilications being agreed to by the- co..tractors. Tlio tender accepted was that of British Pavements, Ltd., tho cost being £ISOO. Mr F. W. Freeman was appointed to supervise the work, in conjunction with a sub-committee, of which the members are tho Mayor, Mr E. A. M. Leaver, Cr. J. S. Ainsworth, and tho Town Clerk, Mi- O. T. Middleton. The specifications provide for a bitumen surface and stipulate that the work shall be completed within six weeks.
