A FORCED LANDING.

BIPLANE DAMAGED. (PitSSS ASSOCIATION XK£G3-tX.) AUCKLAND, December 21. An Avro-Avian biplane, privately owned, was damaged in a forced landing near Mangere Aerodrome this .morning- The pilot. Mr D. McNiool. of Dannevirke, had as a passenger Miss I. Gunn, of Tanmarimui. The biplane took off at 10 o'clock, but the engine stopped whiie if was still at" a Tow altitude. The pilot decided to; land in a nearby fielcf. A landing wheel came off , and the biplane plunged its nose into the ground. Tbe damage was not extensive and both ; occupants were wninjnred.
