CIVIC THEATRE.

"SUNSHINE SUSIE." After record runs and remarkable successes in every capital city of Australia and at Auckland and Wellington British Dominions Films will open the Civic Theatre as an AllBritish house on Saturday at 2.15 p.m. A grand gala screening is timed for 8 p.m. with Gainsborough's talking triumph "Sunshine Susie." Concerning this fine picture, the Sydney "Sun" wrote:—Almost the nearest thing to flesh and blood attraction that the screen has achieved is to be found in "Sunshine Susie." This English picture is most complete. most satisfying. "Sunshine Susie" combines all sorts of jolly devices in music and effects with an amazing human appeal. The musical comedy is ,set in a bank, and hero gather the adorable Renate Muller, that great humorist and dancer Jack Hulbert, Owen Nares, to spice the comedy with romance, and Morris Harvey. As soon as you have seen "Sunshine Susio" once you decide that you simply must seo it again. It has none of the patently clever dialogue or situations with which the talkie adherent is all too familiar. 'A brilliant piece 1 'of work in production and acting, it shows no sign of overstrain on the part of anyone, and so it flows joyously on to most joyous music. The box plans, which are at the Civic Theatre, are filling rapidly.
