POSITION OF THE FARMERS.
TO THE EDITOS OP THE PBESS. ® slr i I quite agree with your correspondent "Pay Your Way" that farmers should stop praying to the Almighty for financial help and also that they should start to help themselves. The whole world trouble is man-made, and not by any means an. act of God. As a matter of fact, at no time in the earth's history has Heaven been kinder to man than the present; he has plenty of everything ne needs except the sense to use it properly, and it seems ungrateful to ask Heaven for more. Man's sellishnoss has more to do with slumps than anything else, and if everyone was made to suffer during these slumps and after they would soon end. The last year or two must have made many of us hope for Heaven as a place where there is no money. According _to Scripture, a barrier has been laid down to keep the rich man out, but after what has happeneQ it would not be surprising to find the eye of the needle enlarged, and the camel coming through, hump and all.— Yours, etc., T.A.S.
