CUP CONTEST.

BETTY'S MEASUREMENTS. I (PBBSS ASSOCIATION TKT.r.QBiJC ) WELLINGTON, December 10. A dispute of long standing over the Betty in Sanders Cup contests of recent years was settled when Betty, with other Wellington Sanders Cup boats, was placed on steel moulds. The verdict of one of the measurers afterwards was I that the Betty was the "pick of the bunch," meaning that she conformed best to the plans and specifications. Only one-eighth of an inch had to be taken off part of the stern. This settles the arguments and allegations of the past that the Betty was not according to Sanders Cup requirements or that the boat was in any way a freak. She is a faithfully built* craft of heart of kauri, and in sound and perfect condition, despite the seven years that have passed since she was built.
