UNEMPLOYMENT.

WOMEN'S COMMITTEE. YESTERDAY'S MEETING. The AVomen's Unemployment Committee met last night. Mrs A. I. Fracr occupied the chair. Apologies were received from Mrs Sullivan, Mrs Blackaby, Miss Trent, and Mr Brookes. The Commissioner of Unemployment wrote requesting a report on the work of the New Brighton and City Committees. . , The cookery report indicated that 1098 meals had been served to members of unemployed families. The employment report showed 167 on the live list, 177 employed in the centres, 14 new registrations, and 12 placed in positions. The cookery sub-committee reported that the examination for the trainees by Mrs Hawkes and Mrs Blackmore had been arranged. The appeal for fruit and jars had met with some response. Letter from Mrs Coates. The committee received the following letter from Mrs J. G. Coates:— "Now that we are coming to the end of the year, and the group of girls who have been training at the cookery centre will be completing their course, I should like to send them a message with my good wishes. It was a great pleasure to me to be present at the opening of the centre. I could not help admiring the fine Bpirit and the enthusiasm shown by all, and I am sure
