HOSPITAL BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. DISPOSAL OF SANATORIUM BUILDINGS. The North Canterbury Hospital Board met yesterday morning. Mr H. J. Olley presided, and also present were: —Mesdames J. McCombs, T. Green, and J. A. Bean,. Messrs J. >s. Barnett, H. A. Bennett, James Boyd, H. R. Davison, L. B. Evans, W. T. Foster, H. H. Holland, F. Rowell, A. T. Smith, W. P. Spencer, W. J. Walter, Drs. P. S. Foster and H. T. D. Acland, and the Rev. J. K. Archer. . The disposal of the Upper Sanatorium buildings had been under consideration, and the Finance Committee reported that it was suggested that the various buildings there, with the exception of the doctor's cottage, the nurses' home, and the porter's cottage be offered for sale by auction. The one and two-bed shelters would make excellent baches, remodelled for fishing huts, or other purposes, and could be readily converted into garages. The Finance Committee reported that with a view to making; provision tor next year's estimates the committee had set up a subcommittee to consider what economies could be effectedThe Rev. J. K. Archer was added to the sub-committee. A report will be presented before the end of the financial year, it was added.
