A menage from Cape Town states that Dori, where (smith landed, is &0U miles from Jcbba (Northern Nigeria), where he was last seen at 2 a.m. last Tuesday. His compass was evidently faulty.' as he missed Niamey by 10U miles. An aviator. -Mr Store, w-as about to leave in Mrs Mollison's aeieplane to search for Victor Smith when the announcement was made that j Smith had been located near Gao, where he ran short of petrol, but re- j plenished his supply after a two days' j traimi through the bush, and continued his flight to England. j CAPE TOWN-LONDON ! A .South African, George Kerr, of Durban, has established a parachute jump record of 17,300 feet. After the feat, he stated : "I. began losing strength at .17,000 feet. I let go without warning the pilot, and 1 oil hundreds of feet before pulling the rip cord. I swung violently and the cold turned to warmth. f smoked cigarettes and chewed biscuits t;> counteract the sickness. I drifted 10 miles and was 20 minutes in descending."
