WAIKUKU BEACH GALA.
; » i ' [ A special meeting of members of the Waikuku Beach Improvement Association and bach holders at the Wailcuku Beach Domain was held at Rangiora on Saturday night to make arrangements i'or the annual gala t° 'be held on Boxiiig Day. Mr T. V\ ifkiuson presided. Duties wc-re allotted to the members and various details concerning the conducting of tlie gala were arranged. T.t was decided to endeavour to arrange with the Canterbury Aero Club for one of the Club's aeroplanes to fly over the Domain during the gala, as was done I last year. , The secretary was requested to apply to the Domain Board lor authority to charge Is admission to the gala for adults, primary school children and cars to be tree. It was also agreed to ask the Itangiora County Council to prohibit the parking of cars on the boundary road oil gala day. An otter i'roui the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society of a pair ot white swans for the lagoon at the Domaiu was accepted with thanks, and it was agreed to offer tlie black swans at present there to the Society. A special committee was appointed to go into the matter of enlarging the beach hall and given power to act. The committee was also asked to consider the provision of tennis courts and a bathing poo] for children on the Domain. Seven new members were elected.
