[EXCLUSIVE TO the TRESS.] [lssued from Metropolitan Headquarters.] Proficiency Examinations. The badge secretary (Mr R. Lockwood) reports the following results of proficiency badge examinations of the St. Mark's, Opawa, group: —Reader: Scouts Edward Clarke and Alan Newton. Artist: L. Jarden, Ed. Warren, F. Bull, L. Burgess, and D. Bunting. Metal Worker: M. Shade. Engineer: M. Slade. Ambulance: D. Bunting, F. Bull, L. Thompson, C. McCaughan, M. Slade. Electrician: M. Slade. Swimmer: E. Warren. Annual Meeting of Council. The Dominion Council meeting was held at Wellington yesterday. The Chief Commissioner (Colonel P. Clennell Fenwick, C.M.G.), Licut.-Colonel F. B. Creswell, V.D., . J.P., Deputy Dominion Chief Commissioner, Dr. F. J. Borrie, and, the general secretary attended from this district. A New Troop. Maylield Group has now been registered. It is expected that there will be about 25 scouts. A warrant has been issued to the Rev. E. A. Owners as scoutmaster. Scoutmaster Osmcrs has had a number of years' experience in the Old Country and should form an important addition to the officers in the movement. The secretary is Mr A. H. Guincy, the schoolmaster at May field. Warrants. The following warrants have been issued: —Bushsidc Group: Keith Reside, A.S.M.. and J. T. Hooper, A.S.M. Linwood Group: I. M. V. Waters, A.CM., W. R. Francis, S.M., R. C. Mcintosh, G.S.M., E. T. Flewellyn, A.S.M. Akaroa Group: F. ,T. A. Wright. A.C.M., the Rev. 11. N. Wright, CM. Mayfield Group: The Rev. E. A. Osmcrs. S.M. Lyttelton Group: D. W. Lester, CM. Royal Humane Society Award. At the last meeting of the Court of Directors of the Royal Humane Society, it was resolved that a framed certificate be awarded to Assistant Scoutmaster James Kean for his action in saving life at New Brighton beach on February 14th. The presentation ■will be made at the opening of the Brighton Surf Club season, which will be held on December 4th. Puller Fire Banner. At the Metropolitan executive meeting, held on Thursday evening, it was decided to compete for the Fuller Fire Banner at the Linwood Scout Group field day, which will be held at Linwood Park on December 10th. All intending competitors should hand in their entries to Mr A. A. Berry, corner Ollivicr's road and Cashel street, where conditions may also be seen. Annual Meeting! The Metropolitan annual meeting, which is being held on Thursday next, will take place in the Y.M.C.A. hall, and not in the St. Andrew's schoolroom as previously announced. Toe H Troop. An inter-troop competition lor the best-written report on the troop's birthday, resulted iti Patrol-Leader n. Bailes being awarded first place for tho ! following:—"Tho first birthday of the Toe H Scout Troop was celebrated on Tuesday evening, October 25th. The celebrations took the I'orln of a parents' evening, and were held in the Too H rooms, Chester streect. '•'Tho evening began with 'ling Break' and inspection, which were tol lowed by a game of ''Brains"—both < parents and scouts participating. The parents were obviously the better playtrs, and they had an ensv victory. Displays of first-aid, by the Jackal patrol," and semaphore, by the Moreporks, were given, these being interspersed by musical items. Scrviee stars were presented to Rover V. Harris and Patrol-Leader H. Bailes. Two second-class badges and loin" tenderfoot badegs were also presented. While supper was being prepared, a sketch, entitled 'Hot News.' was produced by members of the troop. A large cake with one candle, presented by the committee, was an attraction to all at supper time, and during an interval a Koodoo horn, made by a member of the committee, was nresented to the Jackal Patrol for havins gained most marks in the inter-natrol competition "Supper over, this very pleas-ant. evening come to a close. ' Tn further recognition of Ins effortit was to arrange for 1 ni'-nl-Lcnder H Bailes to be shown over 'I hf Press building to-day. ST. JOHN'S CHURCH. REUNION OF SCOUTS. Tho Jubilee celebrations at St. .lohn*s Church, Woolston, were continued last evening, when Evensong, followed by a scout rally and campdrc, was held for the past and present members of the scout troop attached to the church. The preacher at Evensong was the Rev. W. H. Orbell, of Papanui, and the service was taken by tho vicar of St. John's, the Rev. F. A. Tooley. Mr Orbell, in his sermon, said that he was very pleased to have the privilege of taking part in the anniversary services. It was twenty-five years since he went to Woolston and a year later when he founded the scout troop. The jubilee of the scon', troop at Woolston would be held about the same time—perhaps a year later than the celebration of the centenary of the foundation of the church. fie knew of no organisation so character-building as scouting. It was second only to Christianity as an organisation, and so permeated was it with tho spirit of Christianity, that it might be termed "Christianity applied to boy-life." Mr W. Cooper, secretary to' the troop. welcomed past and present scouts attend in <r the rallv and c,<mpfirc that followed the Evensong service. A fire disnlay demonstrations of ambulance work, and a signalling display were given by the troop. The following badges were presented: First class, K. Jones. | N. Thompson; all-round cords, K.
