Biltclifi, L. Holbrough, F. Collier, M. Robinson, F. Tanner, A. J/Wing, V. J. Drake, and Mrs F. E. Biltclifi (hon. secretary). Dog Over Weight. The Ohai Whippet Racing Club reported that it had disqualified the winner o£ the light-weight cup at its meeting for over weight. It was decided to reply that in future all dogs must be weighed before starting and that the stake for the race in question must be divided between all the dogs beaten and the cup run for again. A letter was received from the owner cf the second dog regarding the matter, and. it was resolved to advise hirn that he must be prepared to race off for the trophy at any time between October let and November Ist, both dates included. An application was received for the affiliation of a proposed club at Nightcaps. The secretary was instructed to reply that the association did not consider it advisable at the present time to affiliate a club at a centre so close to Ohai. Following on a letter from* the Manawatu Whippet Racing Club, it was decided to inform the club's handicapper that ho must compile a ranking lisL of all dogs under his jurisdiction as on August 31st, and in handicaps made afte/ that dale shoald not consider performances prior to September Ist. It was resolved to inform all clubs that in nursery races, where the age limit is extended to eight months al> races shall he over 200 yards, or the maximum distance upon the particular race track, and that puppies at their first start shall be placed upon the follow. Ing marks in 200 yardi or proportionate

marks in lesser distances: —(a) Puppies four months and under to go on the limit, 20yds;. (b) puppies over four months but not over five months, to go on 20yds, diminished by half a yard for every week that thoy. exceed four months; (e) puppies over five months but not over six months to go on 18yds, diminished by one yard 'for every week that they exceed five months; (d) puppies over six months but not over seven months to go on' 34yds, diminished by Uyds for every week that they exceed six months; (e) puppies over seven months t%.go on Byds, diminished by 2yds for every week that thoy exceed seven months. It wsb also decided that the word "week" in the above instruction is to mean a complete week. It was decided that, in juvenile races where the handicap is upon weight and age, all dogs shall be weighed before starting, but shall be allowed lib on their declared weights at time of nomination.
