OBITUARY.
MR HENRY NEALE.
Mr Henry Neale, clerk and overseer to the Springs County Council and to tho Road Board which preceded it for about 40 years, died at Southbridge early, yesterday morning, in his 78th year. " He retired from his position on the County Council about a year ago, and has be'en living at Southbridge since then. During his term of office he was responsible for the building of many roads and bridges in his district. He was a greatly respected man at Springston. He took part in public activities, being attached to many bodies. He was a member of a Druids' Lodge for a long time. He possessed, incidentally, a great deal of information about, the early history of his district. Mr Neale's wife died several years ago. He is survived by four sons, Mr E. L. Neale, present clerk and engineer to' the Springs County Council, Mr P. Neale, of Christchurch, Mr W. Neale, a farmer at Brookside, and Mr X. Neale, and by two daughters, Mrs R. F. Pilkington, of Southbridge, and Miss Neale.
MR C. O. HOLLANDS. The death took place at his home, 39 Essex street, Linwood, yesterday, of Mr Charles Oliver Rollands, the veteran drum-major. Mr Hollands, who was 74 years of age, was born iu Jersey, and learned his trade as a hairdresser in England before coming out to New Zealand, when he was about 16 years of age. He first settled in Christchurch, but afterwards worked at his trade in various parts of the Dominion. Except for occasional absences, his home had been in Christchurch for the past 40 vears. Mr Hollands was a well-known
figure as a drum-major, and he had at various times led most of the bands in Christchurch. He started as a sidedrummer in the old Balclutha Band, and was later, in Dunedin, associated with the Old Navals Band in 1885. At other times ho led the Invercargill Garrison Band, as well as others in various parts of the Dominion. In Christchurch ho had been with the old Addington Workshops Band, the Garrison Band, the Stanmdre Band, the Lyttelton Marine Band, and the Woolston Band, as well as with many others that no longer exist. More recently his time was broken, but his enthusiasm remained unaltered, and he turned out whenever there was need of his assistance. Mr Hollands is survived by his widow, and by two sons, Mr R. C. Hollands and Mr W. O. Hollands, both of Christchurch.
The funeral will take place at the Bromley cemetery at 11 o'clock on Saturday.

William Young Fullerton, Home Secretary of the Baptist Missionary Society from 1912 to 1927, aged 75 years. [William Young Fullerton was a missioner in association with C. H* .Spurgeou from 879 to 1893. He visited China in . ,07-08, New Zealand and Australia 921, Canada 1927, South Africa 1928, and Los Angeles 1928. He was president of the Baptist Union of Great Britain and Ireland 1917-18. He published a good many books.]
