YESTERDAY'S TRANSACTIONS.

There was a good volume of diversified business on Call yesterday, a'ld markets generally were firm, with a hardening in several stocks. Transactions, exclusive of vestibule business,

were:— 100 Comm. Bank of Aust. 150 E. S. and A. Bank. 60 Natl. Bank of New Zealand. 5 Bank of New South Wales (cum div.) (late sale 13th). 150 Bank of New Zealand. 500 N.Z. Guaranteed Corpn. 500 N.Z. Eefrif. (10s paid). 200 N.Z. Breweries. 5 Colonial Sugar. 100 Dunlop Rubber. 200 Mt. Lycll. 400 Golden Dawn. 2000 Golden Point. 1000 Mahakipawa. 150 Okarito." Commercial Bank of Australia shares were fractionally weaker at 13s 7d, and there were further buyers at 13s Bd. sellers at 13s 9d. E. S. and A. Bank shares hardened to £4 2s 6d, market closing £4 Is 6d buyers, £4 3s sellers. National Bank of New Zealand shares were firmer at £3 10s, closing quotations £3 9s buyers, £3 10s sellers. A late salo of Bank of New South Wales shares on Saturday was reported at £26 15s, and yesterday's quotations were 5s on either side. Bank of New Zealand remained unaltered with dealings at 46s 3d, and there were further sellers at that price, buyers at 465. Buyers of Union Bank of Australia share* raised their bids to £7 Is 9d, sellers at £7 7s.

Miscellaneous. Buyers of New Zealand Insurance shares moved up to 40s 4d, sellers at 4Ls. N.Z.' Guaranteed Corporation shares advanced to ss, market closing 4s lOd buyers, os Id sellers. HuddartParkers were firmer on buyers' offers at 27s 3d, sellers at 28s 3d. N.Z. Refrigerating 10s paid shares had dealings at 4s 4d and 4s sd. closing quotations 4s 4d buyers, 4s 5d sellers. Buyers of Carlton Brewery shares advanced their offers to 30s, sellers at 335. New Zealand Breweries shares I firmed to 2os 3d, closing quotation Id on either side. Colonial Sugars advanced to £44 10s, market closing £44 buyers, £44 10s sellers. Dnnlop llubbers were fractionally firmer at lis lid, market closing Id on either side. Electrolytic Zinc preference shares were firmer, with buyers at 22s 3d. sellers at 22s od. Mt. Ly'dls changed hands at 19s 6d and 19s 7d, market closing 19s Od buyers, 19s lOd sellers. Buyers of New Zealand Paper Mills advanced their offers vo 20s 9d, sellers at 22s 3d. Golden Dawn Gold Mining shares hardened to os Id and os 2d, closing quotations us buyers, os Id sellers. Golden Points remained unaltered at 7d, and there were further buyers -;t that figure, sellers at 7id. Mahakipawas changed hands at 3Jd, and more were offered at that figure, buyer? at 3d. Okaritos were easier, with, dealings at 8s 9id and 8s 9d, and further tellers at 8s 7d, buyers at 8s 3d.
