THE TRAMWAYS.

MEETING OF BOARD. The Cliristchureh Tramway Board met yesterday afternoon, Mr G. T. Booth presiding. Others present were: Mrs E. 8. McCombs, Messrs H. Pearce, D. Sykes, W. Hayward, W. J. Walter ; and A. A. McLaehlan. The Heathcoto County Council wrote that representations had been made to have a shelter erected at the foot-of Hackthorne road. It would proceed with the work if the Board paid the usual subsidy. Mrs McCombs said that the line was a busy one, and moved that the work be agreed to. / , Mr Hay ward_ said that the request was from a County Council which wa3 prepared to spend money on the work, and evidently it was regarded as necessary, and the Board should agree. The matter was referred to a- specialcommittee.
