THE LIVING STAGE.
TO THE EDITOR OP fan I'IIBSS. Sir,—What a joy it is to be able once again to go aud see and listen to professional actors and actresses put "the real stuff" across the footlights. And a real, live orchestral This is like the good old ante-bellum days in London. I had the good fortune to be resident as a student in London from 1907 to 1914, and on and off during the war, and was a very regular attendant at the theatres, usually in the "gods," but not toohigh up to enjoy everything. Of course, one wants to move with the times and tho talkies are somtimes excellent; but even the good ones only increase one's desire to see and hear flesh and blood artists once again. My interest in this subject is not stimulated by financial connexion with any theatre or company, but merely by my intense love for musical comedy accompanied by good orcehstral music. I do not know a single member of the company at present visiting us; but wish them all the very best of good luck and thank them most sincerely for a delightful Saturday night in the "not so old style."—Yours, etc., TIMOTHY TUGMUTTON.
