BOWLING.
UNITED CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the bowling section of tho United Bowling, Tennis, and Croquet, Club was held on Thursday, when the president', Mr T. W. Reese, presided over a (jbod attendance ot members. The president referred to the lobs sustained by tho club through the deaths of Mr H. K. B. Watson and Mr. J. Campbell, and moved a motion of coudoloncc witU their relatives. Tho motion was carried in silence. Tho secretary presented the annual report and balance-sheet, which were adopted on tho motion of the president. The report diecfosed a- successful .season. but made special reference to the loss of tbo selector, Mr 11. E. B. IVatson, who had. earned a high plaoo in bowling circles throughout New Zealand, and was held in high esteem by bia fello'V bowlers. The election of officers resulted as fol-lows:—Vice-president, Mr J. G. Poison; honorary secretary, Mr T. AY. Recso; delegate to ctmlre, Mr P. McKenaie; general committer Messrs A. Rogers, G. Freeman, J. C. Sheldon, 33. F. Black, and T. Freeman; green superintendent. Mr P. McKenzie; deleBates to club executive. Messrs J. G. Poison, T. W. Reese, and I). Uclien*ie; selector, Mr G. Freeman; Mid-Week Committee, Messrs A. Rogers, R. Hop*, and .7. C. Sheldon; Press steward. Mr 0. C. Sheldon. The president then presented the prises for the past season, winners being as follows: Caatnpion Singles—A. Rogers X, W. W. Hortieon 2- , ,- Champion Pairs—W. \V. Morrison and i. Dunn I, H. Hanger and F. Hill 2. -Champion Rinks—J. C. Sheldon, H. HarriBon, F. Brown, and G. .Freeman 1, W. Hall, A. Rogers, S, J. Smith, and T. Thomson 3. Handicap Singles—A. Fisher. Handicap Fairs—J. Drawing, Trailing, and Driving—T. Thomson.
A discussion took plaoo on various matters effecting the frame, the following' resolution being carried- "That the United Club suprorl tho thrcc-rintf. championship if. played <m Saturdays, provided not leps than 60 per cent, of the town clubs enter."
Votes of thanba vre.ro uncorded to the greenkeeper, Mr J. Campbell, to the out-going officers, to motor-car owners for assistance rendered', and to Mr S. J. Smith and the Central Dairy Co. for the wse of their rooms.
