AN INLAID TABLE.
TO TEE EDITOR 0? THE fRESS. In going round the interesting Exhibition of Antiques which is at present open in the Art Gallery, I was particularly struck with Exhibit No -187, a beautiful taolo inlaid with views of what are apparently scenes oi a large Irish estate, 'lhe information in the catalogue with regard to this seems very vagne. Would it not oe possible for the committee in charge of the' Exhibition to publish the history of this interesting exhibit ot what unusual wood it is made, and how it reached New ZealandP— lours, etc., IRISHMAN. August 7th. 1032. f Application to the committee in charge of the Loan Antique Exhibition shows that little furthei information about the table can be given. It was brought out to New Zealand m the" early days, and until recently has been on Ferniehurst. Station, Canterbury.. The wood is unusual, but might quite easily be Irish yew. The views are of Rillarney Castle and-Muchross House.]
