CLAIM AGAINST TRAINER. NEGLIGENT HANDLING OF HORSE. (FKESS ASSOCIATION TELB'iKAJt ) WELLINGTON, July 27. When the ease in which Francia Gray, horse trainer, of Trontham, claimed £3 10s from Sir Kenneth Douglas, lit., Wellington, for breaking in two horses, was called in tho Magistrate's Court to-day, there was no appearance of plaintiff, and tho proceedings were struck out accordingly. A counter-claim, in which Sir Kenneth sued Gray for £lO lis 6d, representing thc value of _ a horse which had died while being broken in, was successful, Mr T. B. McNeil, S.M., giving judgment for tho full amount with costs. Io was alleged that Gray negligently and unskilfully handled and managed the horse, with a result that it was strangled.
