OVER £14,000 STOLEN

BRISBANE, Juno 13
Burglars entered the Cloncurry branches of the Queensland National Bank and the Bank of New South Wales during; tho week-end, and stole £14,299 in bftnk notes. Of that sum, £10,162 was stolen from tho Queensland National Bank.
Duplicate keys were used on the safes in both instances.

SWIMMING POOL FATALITIES.
MOTHER AND TWO CHILDREN,
MELBOURNE, June 13. A woman and two children, aged two and four years, were drowned in a swimming pool at Sunshine. The bodies nave not been identified. It is not known liow the tragedy occurred.
MURDERER EXECUTED.

PERTH, June 13,
Janios Smith, alias "Snowy" Rowlos, was executed to-day for the murder of Louis Carron, in the Murchison district in May, 1930. [The incinerated remains of. a man wore found in the ashes of a camp fire near Murchison, and tho- outstanding feature,of the subsequent enquiry was the evidence given by a New Zealand dentist, Mr Arthur Sims, and a New Zealand jeweller, Mr Andrew Long, who travelled 5000 miles in order to help the Western Australian polico to identfy the victim. Identification was established by tho Now Zealand witnesses' recognition of lower false teeth and a wedding ring which were found in tho ashes.]
DISABLED STEAMER.

After battling for about 40 hours in stormy seas tho tug Uco reached the drifting freighter Milluna, to bring her back to port. [A Fremantle cablegram on Juno 6th stated that the European Shipping Company's freighter Milluna (5000 tons) wa3 adrift and helpless near Esporance in the Great Australian Bight, with her tail-shaft broken. She had sent out a wireless message for help and there were several steamers in the vicinity. The Milluna was in no danger unless rough seas developed.]
