AKAROA AND WAINUI ROAD BOARD.

* A meeting of the Akaroa and Wainui ltoad Board was held on Saturday. Present Messrs A. It. Haylock, S. J. Vogan, K. McPhail, A. Narbey, and J. Ilayward. Mr Vogan reported that he had sold trees to Mr W. Giddens for £l. The matter of using unemployed labour to get metal out of thp quarry to metal the road from French Farm to Barry s Bay "was discussed. It "was left in Mr McPliail's hands to see Messrs Brocherie and Giddens about graz* ing horses while carting metal from the French Farm quarry. It was decided that Messrs L. Giddens and J. Brocherie be written to and asked to put their fences on the right line. It was resolved that Mr McPhail be given power to dispose of the wood in the Board's paddock at Wainui nt 15s a cord. The Bank of New. Zealand wrote asking what overdraft was required. It was decided to apply for the same amount 3s last year. - The financial statement showed receipts £l3 14s 3d, accounts for payment £430 2s 3d.
