NATIONAL COUNCIL OF WOMEN.
TO THE EDITOB OT TUB TBZSS. gi r> —Eeferring to yonr report of the monthly meeting of the above, .in your issue of Tuesday, may I be permitted to point out that the reference to my Society is rather loose? It reads that the "resignation of the delegate of the Humanitarian Society was received." I represented the Humanitarian and AntiVivisectiori Society of New Zealand, as its delegate for some years. However, I did not resign personally; it is not in my power to do so. It is my Society which has been obliged to resign membership of the National Council of Women and thereby its delegate is withdrawn. This has been brought about by the stress of the times. My executive felt it impossible to afford the fee this year, for our subscriptions from our members are given solely for the relief of our animal friends, and with so many human beings in distress we have less money to depend upon. —Yours, etc., MRS A. D. HOUST9N, Dominion President, Humanitarian and Anti-Vivisection Society of New Zealand (Inc.). • June 7th, 1932,
