RANGIORA. j The Rangiora Borough Council met last | I evening. Present: The Mayor (Mr W. A. Bowse), Crs. R. B. GUlanderß. P. B. Jlartyn, R. Mcintosh, C. W. Tyler, H. R. ICippenberger, J. 0. Scott, J. F. Sutherland. J. A. Ivory, and T. J. Hendren. Before the general businesa of the Council was taken, a special meeting was held to receive the audited balance-sheet for the year ending March 81st, 1931." -ft. resolution was passed accordingly. The Basketball Club was granted the use of the lights at Dudley Park for practice. ■ The clerk reported that there were no objections to the Borough Council applying to the Local" Government Loins Board for authority to divert £6OO from the unexpended balance of the - sewerage loan for the purpose of completing the waterworks supply system. The following recommendations from the | Works Committee were approved: That in connexion with the new transport regulations the Council give every assistance to the Transport Board, and forward the name of Mr H. Oates as inspector. That the matter of the fire alarm switch at the telephone exchange be referred "to the Finance*. Committee after tho cost had been ascertained. .That 'application be made to the Forestry Department for 2000 pine trees two years old. The -following recommendation of the Finance Committee were approved-.That the Council be represented at a conference of municipalities supplying electric power, to be called is Wellington. 1 ■ ■:% .■•
