AUDACIOUS THEFT.

UNWANTED GOODS RETURNED. A daring robbery was committed at the property of Mr C. W. iggo, of XOO Page's road, Bromley, yesterday ing. Thieves, after breaking into Mr IgjE°' s g& ra §> 8 > later returned and left goods which they did not waiit. The robbery was the third of which Mr Iggo has been the victim in nine n.ontbs. The first time his house was ransacked, and goods were stolen to the value of fj.oo. The second gang coneentrated on the hose* and outdoor implements in the sheds round the house, About 3 a.m, yesterday Mr Jggo heard a motor-car move away from the front of the house. He went out thinking that his car had been stolen. He fonnd, however, that th« lock had been

wrenched off the garage door and that about four gallons of motor-car oil, two kits of working tools, including spanner's, screwdrivers, and similar implements, and 2} gross of sewingmachine needles had been stolen. After reporting the theft at New Brighton Mr Iggo returned to his home. While sitting inside ho heard the sound of a ear going past. Further investigation in the garage disclosed that one of the two bags in which the articles had been taken, away earlier in the night had been placed on the footpath in front of the garage. The- thieves had evidently sorted out from the two bags the goods they found would- be of use to them, had replaced the others in a bag and had returned that bag to the garage. Streets leading off Buckley's road have been 'receiving some attention from thieves of late. Three garages in the vicinity of Cranley street and Cuba street Linwood, have been broken into in the' past fortnight; and batteries and motor-car lights have been stolen.
