KAIAPOI SEWERAGE SCHEME.

A public meeting called by the Kaiapoi Borough. Council to consider the advisability of carrying out a sewerage scheme for the Borough was held in the Grand Theatre last evening. The Mayor (the Kev. W. H. A. Vickery) presided. The following resolution was carried: That this meeting of ratepayers express, their thanks to the Council, Dr. Telford, and Mr W. H. Stevens, but that it is the opinion of the meeting that, owing to the existing economic conditions, the Council be asked not to proceed further with* the scheme for at least two years.
