YESTERDAY'S TRANSACTIONS. The bulk of the recorded dealings on call yesterday were in shares in the banking, insurance, and gold mining groups, and prices generally were maintained at recent levels. Bank. 40 National Bank of New Zealand. 100 Bank of New Zealand (cum div.). 200 New Zealand Insurance. 50 South British Insurance. 200 Goldsbrougli, Mort. 100 New Zealand Breweries. 100 Wilson's Cement (late sale 17th) (cum div.). 300 Golden Dawn. 500 Mahakipawa (pref.). 100 Okarito (cum divl). New Zealand Government ;3i per cent. Stock due February, 1937, had dealings at £9B 17s 6d. Commercial Bank of Australia shares were fractionally weaker with dealings at 13s Bd, 13s 6d, and 13s 9d, market closing 13s 6d buyers, 13s 7d sellers. E., S., and A. Bank shares had business at £4 2s, market closing £4 Is 6d buyers, £4 3s" 6d sellers. National of New Zealand moved up to £3 5s 6d, buyers staying in at that price, sellers at £3 6s. Buyers of Bank of New South Wales cum dividend raised their bids to £25 7s 6d, sellers at £25 15s. Bank of New Zealand cum dividend were firm £tt 445, and there were further buyers at 44s Id, sellers at 44s 4d. Union Bank of Australia buyers again moved up to £6 los, sellers at £6 17s 6d. Miscellaneous. Now Zealand Insurance changed hands at 35s lOd and 86s, and these were buyers' and sellers' closing quotes respectively. South British advanced to 47s Bd, sellers staying in at that price, buyers at 47s 6d. Goldsbrougli, Morts wore steady at 22s 3d, market closing 22s 5d buyers, 22s 8d sellers. Buyers of Auckland Gas moved up to 21s 3d, sellers at 235. New Zealand Breweries were frae.tion.illy firmer at 24s lid, closing quotations 24s 8d buyers, 25s 7d sellers. Buyers of Tooths Brewery shares again raised their bids to 23s 6d, sellers at 23s 9d. Buyers of British Tobaccos advanced' their offers to 27s sd, sellers at 27s 7d. Sellers of Howard Smiths reduced their limits to 6a 9d, but buyers were reticent. A late sale of Wilson's Cements, cum, dividend, on Tuesday was reported at 26s 9d. Golden Dawn were fractionally firmer with dealings at 5s 9d, 5s lOd, 5s lid, and 5s 11-Jd, closing quotations 5s 9d buyers, 5s lid sellers. Mahakipawa preference remained unaltered at 6d, and there were further sellers at that figure, buyers at s|d. Okaritos cum dividend were steady at 9s 4d, closing quotations Id on'either side.
