The proceeds are to help the funds of St. Agnes School. There was a good attendance at the social held under- the management of the committee for girl guides and brownies of the district. Prizes for the evening were won by Mrs Fleutz, Mrs W. McLaughlan, Mr W. McDuroy, and Mr T. McDurey. Mr 11. Baker supplied the music for tlie dance. KIRWEE. A social was held in the Courtenay School to bid farewell to Miss M. E. Hunter, who has been transferred to the Lceston School. The evening was spent in dancing and community singing. A song was given by Mrs G. Turner and a recitation by Miss D. Anderson. Mr J.-F. Gilmour, on behalf of the School Committee' and residents of Coartenay, presented Miss Hunter with a *four-hundrcd-day clock. The past and present pupils presented her with a rose bowl. SOUTH MALVERN. A meeting of the Past Grands of the "Loyal. Malvern Lodge and the Loyal C6leridge Lodge, 1.0.0. F., M.U., was held in the Oddfellows' Hall, Glentunnel, to consider the formation of a Past Grands' Lodge. P.G. Bro. George Butler presided. The following resolution was carried: That a Past Grands' , Lodge be formed and the Lodge to be ' named the Malvern Past Grands' Lodge. The election of officers resulted:— Grand Master, Bro. W. J. Teale, P.G.; Deputy-Grand Master, Bro. W. Adkins, P.G.; lecture master, Bro. G. Sutherland, P.G.; secretary, Bro. W. D. Boyes, P.G. SHEFFIELD.
