Alleged to have flown at a height of between 150 ft and 200 ft over the Zoo at Whipsnade, England, and caused commotion amohg the animals, Edwin H. Freshfield, a Cambridge undergraduate, was lately ordered to pay £1 Is costs; Dismissing tfie charge of flying an aeroplane too low, the Magistrates stated that they believed defendant did not act intentionally. The head keeper at Whipsnade Zoo alleged that on the afternoon of February 16th Freshfield. flow, over the Zoo so low that some of the animals rushed about and came into contact with fences. Freshfield explained that he came down to 500 ft to see where he was, arid had no idea that he was over Wliipsnade. A fine of £2 each was imposed on 2500 natives of "Weenan, Natal, for taking part in tribal disturbances. Thoy were marshalled by armed police into a wjre-netting enclosure for this mass trial.
