SERVICE FROM CANADA

(I'KKSS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, May 18. Last month, it was announced that arrangements wero being made for a separate shipping service from Canada to New Zealand. Formerly there wero separate services from Canada to New Zealand and to Australia, but when the negotiations for reciprocal trade between Canada and New Zealand broke down the ships of the Canadian National Line called first at Auckland, and after discharging and loading in New Zealand proceeded to Australia, thence to Canada. The latest advice received in New Zealand is to tlio effect that the present service will be carried on until trade warrants the reopening of a separato service. The indications are that Auckland will remain the first port of call in New Zealand.
