A head-on collision between Spiers's. service car and a sedan car driven by Norman Gonroy occurred at W&keatild yesterday afternoon,' and resulted in five people being taken to hospital. Their names are: Kenneth Marshall, fractured skull; condition serious. Norman -Conwy, fractured skuJJ; progressing. Adam Clark, scalp wounds. Linda Martin; head injuries. Edward George Bell, six and a half months old, was admitted to hospital suffering from concussion. With his mother, the infant was in a side-car attached to a motor-cycle driven by his father, when the vehicle overturned. ENQUIRY INTO LEVEL CROSSING SMASH. Gillespie wus killed through -a dislocation of the neck roccived in a level crossing accident was returned by the Coroner, Mr E. G. Eton, to-day, at the enquiry into the Hcnall street crossing smash on April 9th, when a train struck a bus. with a full load of passengers. Ho adder! that according to the evidence the driver of tbo bus did not seo the train approach, which, to tlia inincl of the Court, was negligence. WALKED INTO POST. Through walking into a telegraph pole in St. Asaph street early last evening,, a youth, Nat Herron, of Rangioru, received abrasions to his face, and had to be taken to the Christenureh Public Hospital for attention. He was treated as an outpatient and discharged.
