♦— — SOCIAL AND DANCE. A social and dance will be held in St. Saviour's Schoolroom to-morrow night in aid of tho work stall at the Monster-Fair .to be held in the. Drill Hall in October,.in aid of the funds of tho Canterbury Yacht and Motor-Boat Club. Golf. Following is the result of the first round for the F. G. Norton Vase played by the Diamond Harbour Ladies' Club on Sunday:—Miss M. Cook and Mrs N. Thompson defeated Miss W. White-Parsons and Mrs W. C. Cleary; Mrs D. J. Comer and Miss E. Mazey defeated Mrs T. Archer and Miss M. Pitcaithly; Mrs E. Cooper and Mrs E. Rudkin defeated Mrs E. It. Curtis and Miss I. Cleary. A bogey match played on Saturday was won by Miss M. Cook, 3 down. Miss V. Gower, 4 down, was the runner-up. Nursing Division. An examination of members of the Lyttelton Nursing Division of St. John Ambulance Association was held last month, and the following have been notified that they have passed: — Seniors—Mesdames E. C. Illingworth, J. Anderson, S. A. Hoyle, M. Ings, Misses D. E. Beaumont, G. G. Silcoek, H. P. McNaughton, M. Thompson, J. Thompson, D. Hoyle, C. A. Poulger, B. Dunlop,. C. Hemsley, and R. Seymour. Juniors—Misses T. M. McCormick, A. C. Maddren, E. Shrimpton, A. T. Beaumont, B. L. Manson, E. McCormick. M. Illingworth, I. Childs, B. Ryder, Masters D. Silcoek, J. Dickie, and V. McNaughton. Dr. C. 11. Upham was lecturer to both classes. The seniors were examined by Dr. F. J. Borrie and the juniors by Lieut.-Coloncl Dawson..
