The contest was not inspiring, Thornton holding his own very well in spasmodic clashes. It yrill be recalled that Hannabcriy {.rcviously won the championship from Ambrose Palmor in the aame • manner. The crowd to-night was not at all satisfied he fouled, and indulged in 'vigorous hooting. The State light-weight championship was also decided. Bluey Jones out-pointed Billy Kelso in a ten-round contest.
