CANTERBURY COLLEGE CLUB. INTER-FACULTY COMPETITION. In the inter-faculty tennis, played on Saturday afternoon for the D. F. Laurenson Memorial Cup, Engineering beat Science by four matches to two, and Law by three matches to one. In the final, Commerce are leading Engineering by three matches to two, with one doubles yet to be played. Results are: ENGINEERING v. SCIENCE. Singles—Andrews beat Larsen, 9-4; Langrish lost to R. M. Barrer, li-0; do Lambert brut Skelton, 9-2; Campbell beat Walters, 9-5. Doubles—Andrews and Langrish lost to Laisen and R M. Barrer, 2-9; de Lambert and Campbell boat Skelton and Walters, 9-8. ENGINEERING v. LAW. Singles—Languish beat I'olson, 9-8; do Lambert beat Jacobson, 9-0; Campbell beat Haughey. Doubles —Langrish' and de Lambert lost to Young and Poison, 6-9. COMMERCE v. ENGINEERING. Singles—B. A. Barrer lost to Andrews, 3-9; Griffiths beat Langrish, 9-1; Knight beat de Lambert, 9-6; Spiller lost to Campbell, 8-9. Doubles—Barrer and Griffiths beat Andrews and Langrish, 9-6. PROGRESSIVE TOURNEY. PLAY AT WILDING PARK. Over thirty senior players took- part in a progressive doubles tournament which was held at Wilding Park on Saturday afternoon to mark the closer of the grass-court season. The tourney was arranged in aid ,ol the Mayor's Relief of Distress Fund and provided a good afternoon's tennis. S. W. Field . and \V. R. Robinson were the winners. Professor P H. Powell was the winner of a similar tournament held by the St. Albans Club, from which a sunj of £2 2s was realised. With the assistance of its affiliated clubs, the Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association hopes to present a substantial contribution to the fund. ALLISON DEFEATS VINES.
