YESTERDAY'S TRANSACTIONS. • Markets generally were firm, but dull on call yesterday, and there was a moderate turnover. Quotations for Government debentures were made on the basis of the interest accruing to the buyer instead of to the seller as heretofore, a new departure on New Zea: land exchanges, which is referred to elsewhere in this issue. Transactions, exclusive of vestibule business, in eluded:— 400 Comm. Bank of Aust. 250 Bank of New Zealand. 100 N.Z. Guarantee Corporation. 500 N;Z. Eefrig. (10s paid). 100 British Tobacco (cum div.). 100 Gordon and Gotch. 200 Golden Dawn. 400 King Solomon. 500 Mahakipawa. 200 Okarito. Commercial Bank of Australia shares had dealings at 13s lid and 13s lOd, raarket closing 13s lid buyers, 14s sellers. Bank of New Zealand remained at 42s 4d, but there were further buyers at that price, sellers at 42s 7d. Miscellaneous. Morts were firmer on buyers' offers 225, sellers at 22s 2d; N.Z. Guarantee Corporation shares remained at 4s. N.Z. Refrigerating 10s paid were firm at 3s 8d and 3s 9d, market closing 3s 8d buyers, «*s 10d sellers. The markets for Shipping and Woollen Company shares were bare. British Tobaccos, cum dividend, advanced to 26s 9d, closing quotations Id on either side. Gordon and Gotch scares realised 245, and there were further buyers at 23s 9d, sellers at 265. Golden Dawn were fractionally firmer at 7s lid, 7s 2d, and 7s 3d, and more were wanted at 7s 3d, sellers at 7s 4d. King Solomons shaded to Is 3id, and Is 3d, sellers staying in at tfie lower price, buyers at Is 2kl. Mahaldpawas were taken at 4d, market closing id on cither side. Okaritos remained una!-; tered with buyers and business at 8s lOd, sellers at 8s lid.

RANGIORA MARKET. There was a large attendance at the weekly . market yesterday, and the yarding of sheep was the largest seen in the yards for some months. - Mostly store, sheep were yarded, for which there was a fair/demand. There were several large lines of sound' mouth, sheep which found a ready tale. The following was the range of prices:— For fat lambs 13s 6d to 18s, fat ewes' 7s to 10s 9d, fat wethers 14s lOd to 17s 9d,' ij.m. half bred ewes 6s to Bs, fair mouth ewes 4s 6d to' 6s, fpur and six-tooth wethers lis to 12s 6d, forward ewes 8s 6d to 5s 3d, store lambs 6s Id to 10s. There were oo cattle sold. In the pig'pens there were about 120 pigs. Best baconers made up to £2 10s6d, light bacon £2 Is 6d to £2 4s6d. Big weaners 10s to lis, small weaners 8s to- 9s 6d.
